Red Island, Banyuwangi

The small hill that rises approximately 200 meters has red soil and is covered by green vegetation so that the red color of the soil does not appear clearly visible.

Red Island is one of the popular tourist attractions in Banyuwangi, precisely located in the Pesanggaran area, Banyuwangi, East Java. It is in great demand by tourists because there is a small green hill with red soil which is near the beach and can be visited on foot when the sea water recedes. On Red Island there is also a temple that is used by Hindus there to carry out the Mekiyis ceremony. Red Island beach has white sand that is safe for families but has high waves so it is not suitable if used for swimming, especially for children. The waves on Red Island are ideal for surfing. The waves on this beach have an average height ranging from 3 to 5 meters so it is suitable for beginner, amateur and professional surfers.
